Spent £28,000 - AWFUL customer service At no point in the process did I ever feel valued as a customer of SMART. Poor workmanship, woeful communication from customer services and insulting emails from the accounts team. I am exhausted from the amount of phone/email chasing I had to do to get things fixed and corrected and I’m left with an expensive garden room which really isn’t that special… In July 2023, I ordered a 6.4m x 3.2m Key Studio from SMART garden offices in Thurston. It took a total of SIX MONTHS to complete the works to a satisfactory standard. Flooded floors, poor paintwork, water gathering on the roof, store door that didn’t close, wrong light fittings, wrong screws. Even one of the build managers visited the site to agree that the finish was not to standard in places, said it was difficult to get the staff and Fridays were not a good day for the team to visit... They knocked £500 off my bill. But no apology and no-one from senior management contacted me. I would dearly like to write a much longer review, giving you all the details, but frankly I have wasted enough of my time on this company.

We are absolutely thrilled with our Smart garden studio, which we are using as a gym and yoga studio. The process of customising the design was easy and enjoyable thanks to the helpful and friendly team, backed up with an excellent website. The installation took place on schedule despite the July heatwave. The heat caused a few problems. but these have been resolved and the after care has been excellent.

My garden office was built around Sept 2021, I've now used it daily for 8 months. I practically live in it, day time I work in it, night time I watch films or game in it. The garden office held up nicely through the cold winter and windy days. Still structurally sound. I have a lot of electrical appliances in it, and have experienced zero power issue. No wear and tear so far other than the wood wanting a coat of Danish oil every 6 months to keep it looking nice. But that's part of the maintenance. I don't leave my heater on at night during winter, so in the morning it does get a bit cold. But it soon warms up, as my humble office is small, smaller than Smart Garden Office's smallest size in the brochure. You can of course set a timer for the heater. I just don't like the idea of a heater being on when I'm not in it. So far in summer it keeps nice and cool, despite half my panels being windows. Both my cat and my dog are happy in it during hot days. I went with the affinity range. As you can see, I'm a maximalist and crammed the tiny space full of stuff. But it doesn't feel cramped, thanks to the white walls, big windows and light colour wood design. The sales team were professional and customer support were always helpful and never put me on hold. Price, I'm happy with the quality of product I'm receiving, so I'm not sure if I can judge. From what I gathered, it's probably competitive pricing. I did get quote from other competitors, some are slightly cheaper, but didn't look as good. My only complain (and the reason I didn't give 5 stars) is that the installation team didn't install the integrated blinds mechanism for me, so I had to install it myself (3M tape). The installation is easy, so probably not a problem for anyone else. But I'm not handy, so of course I messed it up. Because it's semi my mistakes, I didn't feel it's right to asked for them to be fixed. [Update: Smart Garden Office got in touch and fixed all of my mistakes for me free of charge within a day or so] :)

Excellent product, excellent project management and installation. Design process very simple - I chose a product, and was able to make most of the design decisions on line, then SMART were on hand to help finish off the options against transparent, itemised pricing. Most of what I wanted was included as standard - colours, flooring, windows etc were chosen against samples. Installation took 1 day for the base, 3 days for the build and 1 day for the electrics - all planned and managed very smoothly by the product team. Great product which is now my office base!

A huge thank you to everyone at SMART, I really couldn't be happier with my office! The process from start to finish was seamless. The installers were fantastic, on time, tidy, helpful and a pleasure to have around. It's now a joy to go to work in the mornings and the dog loves it too!

Our beautiful SMART was installed last week and we are over the moon with it! From the first contact with SMART to installation and beyond has been an exceptional customer experience. We live in the North East of England and SMART are in Suffolk, there have been no concerns or issues around coming up to survey or the installation of the office/garden room. We have been kept informed throughout the entire process and the team have responded to any questions we have had swiftly. The team that installed worked from early morning to early evening in often very wet weather without complaint, they just got on and worked hard to create our beautiful garden space. An excellent experience and product that we would highly recommend.

Really good service all the way from initial contacts, to safe showroom visit during the pandemic, and all the communications thereafter to make sure everything we wanted was just so. Thoroughly recommend the ground screw base, I was a bit sceptical but its really substantial and so much better environmentally. When it came to installation of the build the weather was awful, the guys were working in mud but managed to complete the build to a good standard of finish and could not have been more helpful. Really pleased with the final product and have really enjoyed furnishing and accessorising and now using our office every day for a couple of months. Really gives us the separation we wanted from our home to carry on working from home. Good value quality product from a quality company!

The experience with Smart Garden Offices has been brilliant from day one. The Smart team were very down to earth and helpful in explaining our options. On the week of the install the team were fantastic! They were all polite, professional and clearly passionate about their work and did a great job in getting our smart garden office in without any disruption. It’s now been over a month since the build and I have been using my smart garden office 5 days a week, and I absolutely love my new work environment. It looks fantastic, It’s as comfy as my house, and even during the recent stormy weather it felt safe and sound inside. Our experience with SMART Garden Offices was excellent, starting from our first visit and show round through to the building being installed. The extra space has been used in many ways - a summer house, a teenage hangout and more recently as an office.. It looks stunning in the garden as well as giving a contrasting contemporary feel.
